Introduction to bush regeneration – join us to learn how to control weeds effectively on your property
Join us for a free workshop and introduction to bush regeneration – learn how to control weeds effectively on your property
The workshop aims to improve landholders’ capacity to control weeds in bushland.
Professional bush regenerators will explain ecological restoration and key concepts such as disturbance, succession and resilience. We will learn how these concepts are used to determine the most effective restoration technique – how we manage weeds on the ground.
Participants will then break into groups to assess 3 areas of weedy bushland to determine the best way to go about restoring them.
To round out the day, the group will discuss other aspects of bush regeneration such as fauna considerations, how we manage threatened plants on site and site monitoring.
Landholders with high conservation value habitat on their land, especially those with Conservation Agreements, are encouraged to attend.
Bookings are essential.
Participants must be fit and wear sturdy, enclosed footwear and sun-safe outdoor attire. There are limited facilities on site. Attendees should bring water and a seat and are encouraged to their own bring gloves and secateurs.
Location: Meet at the picnic area, Hospital Hill, Karramul Street, Murwillumbah
