Details

Perfect for beginners and experienced binders alike, this hands-on workshop will introduce you to four classic Japanese bookbinding styles — the foundational Four-Hole binding, Noble, Hemp Leaf and Tortoise Shell patterns. Students will also be shown how to make traditional Japanese book blocks and decorative corner pieces known as kadogire.

You’ll leave this workshop with four beautiful handmade notebooks, a set of templates for each sewing pattern, and detailed instructions so that you can easily keep creating at home.

All materials and tools are provided, however if you would like to bring specific papers to use, you are more than welcome. Places are limited to six participants for a relaxed, personalised experience.
