Kunghur Community Led Emergency Hub Workshop
Details
Join Us for the Kunghur Community Emergency Hub Workshop
Come and help shape a community-led Emergency Hub for Kunghur and the surrounding areas. This interactive, fully catered day will be an opportunity to sharing local knowledge, identify community needs, and learn how we can work together in times of crisis.
The Emergency Hub model—first developed in Wellington, New Zealand and adopted in the Yarra Valley in Victoria and hopefully throughout the Northern Rivers—creates a safe gathering place for residents to connect, share information, and coordinate local responses after an emergency. When Kunghur and nearby areas are cut off during severe weather events such as floods or fires, this Hub framework empowers locals to problem-solve and support one another.
The day will include practical activities, local mapping, and scenario planning to help us strengthen our community response and preparedness. We understand that committing a full day can be difficult, so even if you can only attend for a few hours, your input and presence will still be greatly valued.
Everyone is welcome — whether you’re a long-time resident or new to the area. It’s a great opportunity to meet your neighbours, share ideas, and build community resilience together.
