About

On Saturday 26th August you will be able to witness the duplication of our native bee hives!

Courtney Castles, aka “The Stingless Bee Lady”, is going to be with us again, to show us how to duplicate our hives by a gentle process called “eduction”. Courtney will explain the difference between eduction and “splitting”, and why the former is preferable.

We think this will be of great interest to many, but particularly to those of you who attended our “Native Bees in the Garden” workshops in February and March.

Expanding the native bee population by duplicating hives is key to post-flood re-population of native bees in our neighbourhood.

We are offering this workshop on an “entry by donation” basis.

This is a child-friendly event, but we do ask that children be closely supervised.

Our location is on Mooball Street, opposite the Mount St Patrick’s Primary School, next to Showgrounds Gate 2.

Please be sure to wear closed footwear, and please bring your own sun protection.
