Details

Queer Family are joining the Tweed Diversity Walk – an event for queer youth aged 12-25, their friends, families and supporters!

As part of Queer Family’s Pride Month Bonanza, we are psyched to be a part of the Tweed Heads Diversity Walk on Saturday 1st July, being run by headspace and Social Futures. This event is for all LGBTIQSB+ young people aged 12-25, their friends, families and supporters!

We would love for the whole community to come together in celebration of Pride Month 2023.Meet at Jack Evans Boat Harbour (Chris Cunningham Park) at 11am. We’ll prepare to take over the streets at 12pm, marching along Wharf St and finishing where we started at Chris Cunningham Park. This will be followed by fabulous performers, music, games, a chill zone and food. There will also be a BEST DRESSED DOG competition – so get those pooches in their funkiest outfits so they can strut their stuff on the doggie carpet!

For transport, please contact Kaila on 0403 638 419 or at kailaqueerfamily@gmail.com.

We wish to acknowledge the Ngandowal and Minyungbal speaking people of the Bundjalung Country, in particular the Goodjinburra, Tul-gi-gin and Moorung – Moobah clans, as being the traditional owners and custodians of the land and waters within the Tweed Shire boundaries. We also acknowledge and respect the Tweed Aboriginal community’s right to speak for its Country and to care for its traditional Country in accordance with its lores, customs and traditions.
