Stories that Stir Northern Rivers
Details
Northern Rivers Stories that Stir™ is returning to Flutterbies Cottage in Tyalgum, hosted by local Bettina Deda.
Join us for a fabulous Sunday outing, where you’ll hear from six wonderful people, who will be sharing their 10-minute raw and personal story, linked to the theme INSPIRATION, in all its shapes and forms.
The Stories that Stir™ event series was designed to break down barriers, stir conversation, and inspire positive change.
Audience members rave about how good it feels to spend a lovely afternoon, listening to other people’s funny, moving, and inspiring stories and how connected to humanity the event makes them feel.
You will have the choice between two ticket options:
- Lunch package (12:30 – 4pm) or
- Storytelling only (2 – 4pm)
Lunch needs to be rebooked and will be served at Flutterbies before the storytelling. If you have dietary requirements, please get in touch with Bettina. All guests will enjoy a glass of bubbles on arrival.
Please join us for an afternoon of extraordinary stories that will make you laugh, cry and view the world in a different light.
Meet your Storytellers:
Serendipitous Rise – Annette Densham
“The COO wants to see you, NOW.” Ten minutes later, Annette Densham was escorted from the building, humiliated and broken. Spiraling into depression and crippling imposter syndrome, she never imagined a friend’s nudge to attend a weekend seminar would transform her – untapping her unconscious competence and confidence to build a reputation as a successful award-winning entrepreneur. In the darkest times, unexpected opportunities can lead to a different, and more fulfilling journey
Dance is Romance – Peter Murphy
After a difficult divorce, Peter found a new purpose at a Brisbane Dockside live-music event. Captivated by the dancers, he bravely asked a pretty girl to dance. To his surprise, she had a broken leg and couldn’t join him. This twist of fate led to a deeper connection, and they became partners in dance and life, transforming Peter’s journey and reigniting his zest for life.
Miracles & Joy – Becc Sahasrara
When people hear Becc Sahasrara’s inspiring story of overcoming extreme trauma and escaping to freedom, the usual response is ‘Wow’. But for Becc survival wasn’t that inspiring or the hard part. To choose to heal and to truly live in joy again, that is the miracle… and one we all have to choose.
White Life, Black Blood – Bel G Harvey
At the age of 22 Bel was grieving over her father’s passing and resenting him for discovering that her identity had been a lie. Years later, a spiritual experience allowed her to forgive and opened pathways for mob to reconnect to Country, providing opportunities to pass her culture down to future generations.
Show Yourself – Sarah Temporal
Some people use small talk to connect with strangers, but Sarah Temporal uses poetry. Sarah’s depression, social anxiety and shyness used to keep her isolated. Speaking up through poetry had such an impact that she eventually quit teaching to go into creative arts full-time, now leading hundreds of young people to find their own poetry superpower. This story explores the power of revealing our hidden selves and trusting strangers with the darkest parts of our story.
Lead with Courage – Karolyn E. Zynetti
Karolyn shares her vulnerable journey and how creating safety within her nervous system allowed her to move from adversity to victory, make bold moves in biz, travel the world, trust herself and lead with courage.
