ATONG ATEM | GERWYN DAVIES | TIM GEORGESON | SUE HEALEY

synergy: identity, portraiture and the moving body presents a group exhibition of four renowned Australian-based artists who explore personal and cultural forms of identity. Through fantastical transformations, elaborate costuming, fierce synergies between sound and movement, and the poetic language of dance, the captivating work of all four artists interrogate ideas of self and utilise portraiture, movement and the body as a form of visual storytelling.

The works in this exhibition span and transcend multiple genders, age and cultures and remind us of the universal power of identity, body and movement in navigating our own experiences.

Exhibiting artists include Atong Atem, Gerwyn Davies, Tim Georgeson and Sue Healey.

A Tweed Regional Gallery initiative.

Atong Atem is represented by MARS Gallery, Melbourne
Gerwyn Davies is represented by Jan Murphy Gallery, Brisbane and Michael Reid Gallery Sydney / Berlin
Tim Georgeson is represented by Olsen Gallery, Sydney
