Calling all Northern Rivers artists and creatives!

Join Arts Northern Rivers and Bodies Hold Histories (PYT Fairfield) for a warm artist gathering.

Hosted by PYT Creatives from Western Sydney, this evening is an informal chance to meet the artists behind the ‘Bodies Holds Histories’ residency. Experience their creative process through participatory icebreakers, followed by a shared light dinner. This unique exchange is a chance to share ideas, practices, and stories between two vibrant art sectors – the Northern Rivers and Western Sydney, and explore what connects the hearts of both regions.

All art forms, individuals and arts workers are welcome. Come as you are. Let’s connect.

Please book in by 10 October 2025 for catering purposes, spaces are limited.

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY

We move backwards into the future with our focus fixed on the past, making history as we dance – right here, right now.

Bodies Hold Histories is a new dance-based work developed through a residency of cultural exchange. A team of creatives from PYT Fairfield (Western Sydney) will immerse themselves on Bundjalung Country in the Northern Rivers, working with local artists and Country through a process of deep listening to place, community, and care.

We wish to acknowledge the Ngandowal and Minyungbal speaking people of the Bundjalung Country, in particular the Goodjinburra, Tul-gi-gin and Moorung – Moobah clans, as being the traditional owners and custodians of the land and waters within the Tweed Shire boundaries. We also acknowledge and respect the Tweed Aboriginal community’s right to speak for its Country and to care for its traditional Country in accordance with its lores, customs and traditions.
