Date

Tue 05th May 2026, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Location

14 Tumbulgum Rd
Murwillumbah NSW 2484

Details

Many community groups struggle with deciding which grants to pursue, often limited by volunteer time and resources. This session helps groups determine if they are truly grant ready by building a strong foundation to approach grant applications efficiently and confidently.

Participants will explore why funding is needed and assess their organisation’s capacity to deliver a funded project. They’ll learn how to clearly define their project’s stakeholders and partners, prepare essential organisational details, and establish the scope and benefits of their project. The session also covers estimating project costs, finding suitable funding opportunities, planning for sustainability beyond the funding period, and developing a clear strategy to increase the chances of grant success. Participants will walk away with the ability to assess their grant readiness, organise key information, and confidently prepare for future funding opportunities.

Topics include:

· Understanding why you need money and a grant

· Deciding if your organisation has the capacity to deliver a funded project

· Being clear on the project’s stakeholders and partners

· Knowing how to talk about your organisation

· Preparing a list of all of your organisation’s details

· Defining the scope and the benefits of your project

· Establishing if the project is needed

· Working out how much the project will cost

· Knowing where to find suitable funding

· Identifying how to keep the project going after the funding finishes

· Having a plan to succeed

This is a free event.
