Chinderah Community Meeting – Getting Prepared

Details
Inviting Chinderah & Surrounds residents to join the CRT Working group to discus Preparedness, Recovery & Resilience for Emergencies
Red Cross would like to invite residents of Chinderah and surrounds to the Chinderah Scout Hall for a Community “Town Hall” Style Meeting discussing Comunity-led Resilience Teams. The Over 55 Villages & Caravan Parks in Chinderah have CRT’s and are coming together with the Chinderah CRT Leader, Chris, to inform commuity on the CRT, the risks of emergencies to Chinderah and to discuss with you, as residents, how you are improving your preparedness as households and as a community.
Community-led Resilience Teams (CRTs) are an all-hazards approach to preparing communities before disasters; providing community driven response during disasters; and obtaining information on real grassroots needs afterwards. The model is truly community-led and works in all stages of the Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery model. It creates community connections when it’s needed the most.
Come along to a community meeting and find out more about:
- What is a Community-led Resilience Team (CRT) and what role can you play
- Hear from SES about preparing households before a Flood or Storm
- Hear from local RFS about preparing households for Fires.
- Connect with other residents and join the conversation about how your community’s getting prepared.
If you are a resident of any of the Over 55 or Caravan Parks and are not yet conected in with your local CRT, please get in touch so we can link you in.
