For the past three years, a Charity call Mongrels Men have been active in the Tweed Shire community running regular Community Meet Ups and Workshops. We are thrilled to be working with Tweed Shire Council to offer a FREE Mental Health Training Course to build a mentally healthy and supportive Tweed Shire community.

We are inviting anyone linked to a sporting club to attend our third and final workshop on Saturday 14 June 2025, at the Tweed Heads South Community Centre – Community Hall (18 Heffron Street, South Tweed).

‘Mental Health Response Ready’ Program Objectives:

• Increase mental health awareness and knowledge

• Reduce stigma and normalise conversations about mental health

• Equip sporting club representatives with the skills required to identify and support those

impacted by poor mental health

• Foster a mentally healthy and supportive sporting community

• Develop mental health role models and champions within the sporting community

• Enhance education on mental fitness and self-care

This course is delivered by former Newcastle Knights NRL player and mental health educator Chris Houston.
