Details

re/JOY is a major exhibition by Thai-born Australian artist, Vipoo Srivilasa, that honours and celebrates the multi-layered personal migration stories of people from all over the world who have made Australia home.

Encapsulated in seven new 1.5 metre tall ceramic sculptures, are the stories and broken pieces of objects that held significant meaning to fellow migrants along their journey. An eighth sculpture references the artist’s own experiences migrating to Australia, based on his grandmother’s button that holds strong family connections.

The exhibition examines the emotional connection we have with everyday objects and their role in our lives through migration experiences and memories.

re/JOY is an Australian Design Centre (ADC On Tour) national touring exhibition, presented with assistance from the Australian Government Visions of Australia program and Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.

Exhibition on display 15 November 2025 – 8 February 2026
