Start the week with an underwater adventure. Join a guided tour with the crew at Watersports Guru, out around Cook Island Aquatic Reserve, to snorkel alongside green sea turtles and a kaleidoscope of marine life.

Minjungbal Museum & Cultural Centre 

Take a quiet moment to connect with Country at Minjungbal Museum in South Tweed. Open on Mondays, the Musueum offers insights into local Aboriginal culture, Dreaming stories and native bush food knowledge. Wander a tranquil walking trail through sacred bora rings and mangrove-lined estuaries. 

Northern Rivers Rail Trail  

Stretch your legs with a walk along the scenic Northern Rivers Rail Trail or cruise on two wheels with Better By Bike, which offers e-bike hire for the Northern Rivers Rail Trail at the trail head, Murwillumbah Railway Station. The Tweed section (from Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek) is open daily and makes for a cruisy Monday nature adventure.

Uki Mountain Bike Park 

For the more adventurous rider, hit the trails at Uki Mountain Bike Park, open daily and free to ride. With trails for all levels and incredible valley views, it’s a local gem hidden in the hills. 

Tropical Fruit World 

Experience the flavours of nature on a Monday with a Tropical Fruit World farm tour. Ride the tractor train through avocado groves, taste exotic fruits in season and learn the stories behind this family-run farm. The kids will love the animal park and boat ride.

Husk Farm Distillery 

When Monday calls for a slow lunch or tasting flight in picture-perfect surrounds – Husk Farm Distillery is open seven days and is famous for its paddock-to-bottle spirits – especially the colour-changing Ink Gin and agricole rums. Grab a seat on the lawn and settle into the week.

Tweed Regional Aquatic Centres 

The Tweed’s aquatic centres – including pools in Murwillumbah, Tweed Heads South and Kingscliff – are all open on Mondays. Whether you’re up for laps, a splash with the kids or just a lazy float, it’s a refreshing way to ease into the week. 

Take a day hike  

If you’re craving some calm time in nature, Mondays on the trail are ideal for a hike. Head to Unicorn Falls for rainforest tranquillity, explore the Whiskey Creek walk near Pottsville or wander the coastal track to Fingal Lighthouse for epic sea views and whale-spotting in season. The Platform Cafe, located at the Murwillumbah Railway Station, is at the start of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and the perfect place to fuel up before your trail adventures.
