HIGH IMPACT TOURISM CAMPAIGN FOR THE TWEED LAUNCHED
A high impact marketing campaign inviting visitors to Feel New in The Tweed will go to market next week, reaching major metropolitan audiences including Brisbane and Sydney.
The Tweed Tourism Company has partnered with Destination NSW through their statewide Feel New marketing platform for a dedicated Tweed campaign which then also received support via the NSW Government’s border recovery funding with the result a combined budget in excess of $700,000 to drive destination awareness.
The multi-channel consumer campaign is primarily targeting Sydney and south-east Queensland with activity across national television, digital channels and outdoor advertising as well as a retail partnership with Expedia Group (headlined by Wotif.com).
Additionally, a unique partnership with outdoor experience content creators, We are Explorers, will also showcase The Tweed through a spotlight on local heroes, featuring Jonny Dustow, co-founder of Vanlife Diaries, and Keri Algar, founder and chief distiller at Soltera Rum.
Minister for Tourism Ben Franklin said the striking new marketing campaign would enhance awareness and drive bookings to the Tweed region.
“Promoting destinations, products and experiences through our Feel New brand is instrumental to driving long-term social and economic benefits for the people of NSW and attracting visitors to the regions.
“Delivering this campaign in the Tweed is part of the NSW Government’s commitment to investing in regional communities and growing the local economy,” Mr Franklin said.
Member for the Tweed Geoff Provest said the campaign was great news for the local visitor economy and would support tourism businesses across the region.
“More than ever, the visitor economy of the Tweed needs support to build on the potential of the tourism offering in our region.
“I am delighted Tweed Tourism Company received this funding from the NSW Government to help them promote the incredible attractions and visitor experiences right across the Tweed and support our local tourism businesses to rebuild,” Mr Provest said.
Bradley Nardi, General Manager of Tweed Tourism Company, acknowledged the support of Destination NSW and the NSW Government in contributing to the largest ever campaign investment for tourism in the region.
“We are excited to be launching this significant marketing effort that will help our tourism industry to continue its recovery following the challenging times we’ve all faced through COVID, as well as the border closures and natural disasters that impacted the Northern Rivers region in particular.”
“The campaign will be encouraging visitors to get out and explore the Tweed’s diverse natural experiences on their next holiday and, with what is an unprecedented budget resource for the Tweed region, we are able to reach major metropolitan areas including Sydney as well as the traditionally key Brisbane market.”
The Tweed region’s Feel New campaign will commence on 6 October and run over seven weeks across television, digital, outdoor, trade and content partner platforms.
All campaign advertising will be delivered using the NSW Government’s Feel New brand with Visitnsw.com as the call to action.
