NEW RECRUITS FOR THE TWEED TOURISM COMPANY TO SUPPORT LOCAL INDUSTRY
The Tweed Tourism Company has appointed two highly respected tourism professionals to its team, with Mish Lockington and Renae Denny coming on board to drive engagement with the region’s tourism industry.
General Manager of The Tweed Tourism Company (TTC), Sally Scott, said that the new appointments were exciting additions to the team that would help to engage local tourism operators in the company’s marketing and development opportunities.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mish and Renae to the team in these critical roles that will help to build partnerships within our industry and ensure that local businesses can maximise the benefits of tourism via TTCs various activities.”
“Both Mish and Renae bring a wealth of tourism expertise to our team, across marketing, partnerships and tourism development and, importantly, are also very familiar with the Tweed, having previous experience working in the region in various capacities.”
Mish Lockington has strong expertise in stakeholder engagement, sales management and media and trade familiarisation programs and has worked for the likes of Tourism and Events Queensland and Tourism Australia. Mish also contracted to TTC in 2022 to coordinate the comprehensive ASTW Convention familiarisations program, with over 80 travel writers experiencing the Tweed across 10 unique itineraries.
Renae Denny is a passionate tourism specialist and events manager with a strong track record in destination marketing and the business events sector. She brings extensive experience in developing marketing and media programs for clients including Destination New South Wales (DNSW) and most recently led production for DNSW as part of Tourism Australia’s National Experience Content Initiative, coordinating 247 photography shoots across the state.
“In these industry engagement roles, Mish and Renae will be a dedicated point-of-contact for our operators, not only connecting them with targeted opportunities such as marketing activity, capacity building and media familiarisations but also providing an ear to the ground, ensuring mutual connectivity across the region.” Ms Scott said.
In the shared role of Industry Engagement Manager, both Mish and Renae will be getting out and about across the Tweed region to meet with tourism operators and share upcoming TTC activities and opportunities.
