The Tweed Tourism Company’s General Manager Sally Scott said the new routes into the Gold Coast were a major win for the region, presenting an opportunity for the Tweed to reach previously untapped visitor markets via the 70 additional weekly flights and almost 700,000 new passenger seats.

“As neighbouring regions, the Tweed and Gold Coast are equally poised to benefit from this influx of new visitors into Gold Coast Airport and our partnership with Bonza will ensure the Tweed is top-of-mind with these travellers when they are considering where to holiday.”

“This targeted campaign will showcase the many ways to enjoy a mini-break in the Tweed with incredible foodie experiences, unmissable art galleries and endless ways to immerse in nature, from beach activities to river cruises and hinterland trails.”

Bonza’s CEO Tim Jordan said the airline was excited to partner with The Tweed Tourism Company to increase visitation to the region.

“Bonza and Bonza Holidays are about making it easier and more affordable for Aussies to explore their own big, beautiful backyard. We’re focussed on bringing economic development to largely regional destinations such as the Tweed with the launch of our newest base at Gold Coast Airport.

“Partnering with The Tweed Tourism Company is a great example of how Bonza is working alongside industry to boost domestic tourism. We look forward to bringing the first visitors to the region on 15 November,” said Jordan.

Queensland Airports Limited CEO Amelia Evans said the partnership between Gold Coast Airport and Bonza will provide a big boost to the local economy.

“These new routes will deliver more than two hundred million dollars in economic benefit to the wider region each year,” Ms Evans said.

“Many of these routes are new to Gold Coast Airport’s network and they’re very competitively priced, which is great news for our customers, locals and visitors to the region,” she said.

The joint Tweed and Bonza campaign runs from until 22 November, capturing interest and booking periods around the 15 November launch of the new routes with the chance to win a 2-night Tweed mini-break prize package.

The Tweed mini-break prize package for 2 people includes:
