THE TWEED’S KINGSCLIFF IN WOTIF’S LIST OF TOP 10 AUSSIE TOWNS FOR 2025

Today, leading travel app Wotif announced the news that many locals and visitors know well – The Tweed’s Kingscliff is one of the best towns in Australia!

Announcing the winners of its 2025 Aussie Town of the Year Awards, Wotif revealed new research that shows 78% of Australians plan to travel domestically this year, a 9% increase on 2024*.

With New South Wales towns dominating Wotif’s Aussie Town of the Year Awards, this travel trend points to a strong year of tourism ahead for the state’s regional hot-spots including Kingscliff, along with Yamba and Port Stephens, also making the top 10 list and Port Stephens taking out the number one spot.

Now in its eighth year, the Wotif Aussie Town of the Year Awards recognise trending Australian destinations for the year ahead based on Wotif’s data index that looks at accommodation affordability, quality and traveller satisfaction**.

The awards come as over a quarter (28%) of Aussies want to visit new destinations in Australia this year, knowing that there is no better place to travel than home. Additionally, short breaks will remain key for many Aussies, with 3 to 5 days being the sweet spot for domestic travel in the year ahead.

Sally Scott, General Manager of The Tweed Tourism Company, said it was a bonus to have Kingscliff highlighted as one of Australia’s top 10 towns of the year by Wotif, an accolade that reaffirms this classic seaside spot as a must-visit in 2025.

“Kingscliff effortlessly blends quintessential beach holiday ambience with a relaxed local scene, helping visitors to feel immediately at home as they hop from cafe to beach,” she said.
