Event Workshop: Single Use Materials – What’s changing?
Details
Council has drafted a new Single Use Materials and Packaging Policy, which will be on exhibition from 11 February to 25 March 2026. The policy outlines a staged approach to phasing out single‑use materials – plastic or otherwise – across licensed and sponsored events, as well as any events held on Council‑managed land in the Tweed.
The objectives of the policy are to:
-
Avoid or reduce waste to landfill
-
Reduce pollution in waterways and natural environments in the Tweed
-
Increase use of reusable alternatives
-
Minimise greenhouse gas emissions
-
Encourage further community action to avoid waste
Join us to explore how these changes could work in practice, walk through real‑world case studies, and share your feedback.
