Industry Forum
Details
An opportunity to share experiences, expectations and desires for the future of housing and employment land in the Tweed.
This Industry Forum is designed for those involved in the housing and employment industries in the Tweed Shire. This may include developers, land-use planners, real estate agents and associated housing and employment industry members.
The Tweed is one of the largest and fastest growing local government areas in regional NSW. By 2041, the NSW Government projects an estimated increase of around 13,290 people on our current population of 97,151.
To help guide and manage this growth, Council has begun preparing a Growth Management and Housing Strategy. An Issues Paper has already been publicly exhibited, and a draft Options Paper which will present a range of approaches to provision of housing and employment land over the next 20 years is currently being prepared.
The development industry plays a crucial role in facilitating the right housing and employment opportunities in the right places at the right time. Council would like to learn from their experiences to help inform a shared vision for the Tweed’s growth.
The forum will provide an opportunity to meet with the consultants preparing the strategy, and be updated on progress before opening the forum for comments from attendees.
Please note: This is not a public forum, it is specifically for the housing and employment industries. Opportunities for the community to view and comment on the draft Options Paper will be provided when the document is placed on public exhibition in the near future.
