SAVOUR THE TWEED RETURNS – BIGGER, BOLDER AND EVEN MORE DELICIOUS
Savour The Tweed, the region’s flagship culinary event, is back this spring following a sell-out inaugural launch last year, with a program that promises more of everything, from pop-up activations at iconic locations to mouth-watering collaborations with visiting chefs and a true celebration of The Tweed’s food and drink heroes.
Running over five days from Wednesday 22 October to Sunday 26 October, Savour The Tweed celebrates local provenance from the ground up, with delicious food and drink events that highlight fresh-grown goodness while showcasing The Tweed’s remarkable culinary scene – from grassroots growers and makers to award-winning chefs and restaurants.
The return of this instantly iconic five-day celebration of The Tweed’s rich gourmet offerings sees an expanded program of 35 distinctive events on offer in 2025, with something for all ages, passions, palates and budgets.
The Savour The Tweed program, once again thoughtfully curated by Tweed-based chef and author Christine Manfield and local food advocate Amy Colli, champions the region’s local flavours and those who bring them to life, from First Nations storytellers and passionate chefs to talented distillers, brewers and baristas, cheesemakers and farmers and an endless list of artisan producers.
This year, the program elevates unique local collaboration events with visiting chefs, including
proud Bundjalung chef Mindy Woods, winner of the recent Champions for Change at the World’s Best 50 Awards 2025 in Italy, chef Martin Boetz of Brisbane’s Shortgrain Restaurant, Spanish chef Frank Camorra of Movida in Melbourne and popular author and television presenter Belinda Jeffrey, along with The Tweed’s very own Christine Manfield.
Designed to excite the tastebuds and deepen connections with local culinary stories, the 2025 Savour The Tweed program is set to cement The Tweed’s reputation as one of Australia’s leading food and drink destinations with farm tours, distillery and brewery tastings, speak-easy soirees and long table lunches, storytelling sessions, cooking classes and unmissable restaurant events all now on sale.
Christine Manfield said that Savour The Tweed 2025 would build upon the strong sense of place, culture and creativity that defined the program in its inaugural year, delivering a program of events that not only taste good but encourage connection.
“As a signature regional food and drink event for this region, Savour The Tweed returns in 2025 with connection at its core, from the important link between farmers and chefs to deep respect for our First Nations storytellers and the joy that comes from sharing delicious and carefully prepared food and drink with friends and family.”
“I’m so excited to once again be collaborating with Amy Colli and The Tweed’s vast culinary talent to share a program of immersive experiences that feature awarded restaurants, celebrated visiting chefs, important conversations and outstanding locations.” Ms Manfield said.
Sally Scott, General Manager of The Tweed Tourism Company, said that Savour The Tweed was the perfect way for visitors to get a true taste of The Tweed, with new events in 2025 to showcase some of the region’s leading holiday experiences.
“As a five-day event, Savour The Tweed is an ideal long-weekend getaway and this year the program really embraces some of the region’s unique holiday landscapes and experiences, with a special event based around the Gidjuum Gulganyi walk featuring Bundjalung Chef Mindy Woods, a fun brunch beside the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and a secret supper club speak-easy event at the Tweed Regional Museum.”
“Importantly, the program has something for everyone, from family-friendly events to intimate masterclasses and caters to a range of budgets, from free options to signature events.”
“We’re so proud to be delivering this important signature event for the region once again with our great partners Tweed Shire Council and via event funding support from Destination New South Wales.”
Mayor of Tweed Shire Chris Cherry said the return of Savour The Tweed was a great outcome for both locals and visitors and the perfect avenue to shine a light on the Tweed’s incredible culinary offering.
“Savour the Tweed is a key investment by Council to host a signature event that showcases our region and highlights our culinary strengths and, based on the great success of its inaugural staging last year, we are so proud to deliver Savour The Tweed 2025 once again with our event providers, The Tweed Tourism Company,” Cr Cherry said.
“At Council we have aimed to carefully nurture the Tweed’s burgeoning food production sector over many years and we look forward to celebrating all of our food, drink and hospitality businesses in what promises to be a fantastic event once again in Savour The Tweed.”
